Course Description
An introduction to the major hardware/software components of modern information systems. Topics include introduction to the history of computers, numbering systems conversion, system and application software, networks and the Internet. Additional topics include information systems and systems development life cycle, introduction to programming, databases and business intelligence, information security, privacy, and ethics in the cyber world. Intended as a comprehensive introduction course to the information systems majors.

Important Take-Aways

From this course, the main skill that stuck to me was knowledge and experience in databases. In this class, we had to do a course project that involved database structure and development through microsoft access. This really taught me a good amount of knowledge about what to expect from my career path if I were to have to develop a database regarding certain information. These skills are very important within the field of cyber as it shows that you have the knowledge of IT needed to perform multiple aspects of the job.
